Fauquier County Public Schools, Virginia, Selects Infinite Campus
Aug. 28, 2013 – Blaine, Minn. – Fauquier County Public Schools, serving approximately 11,000 students in Warrenton, Va., selected Infinite Campus as its new student information system (SIS). This software system will be used to manage all student data throughout the district. Their current SIS was acquired by another company and would no longer be supported, prompting the decision to move to another product. As the largest American-owned SIS and a Virginia preferred vendor, Infinite Campus is the best solution to meet their needs.
Louis McDonald, Fauquier Director of Technology Services, explains their selection process, “We developed an evaluation matrix that took into account requirements, cost and business acumen. Each vendor was assessed in these areas and given a score. The resulting scoring matrix had Infinite Campus on top.”
After a thorough review process that involved stakeholders from all areas of the district, we are pleased that Fauquier County Public Schools selected Infinite Campus, and we welcome them to our growing family of customers in Virginia,” says Michael Palmer, Infinite Campus Regional Sales Manager. “Infinite Campus will save them time and money by eliminating third-party systems, while also increasing stakeholder communication and improving staff efficiency.”
Fauquier
County Public Schools maximized the security and availability of their
data by choosing Campus Cloud Choice Hosting. Storing data in the
“cloud” is a well-established distributed data storage methodology that
Infinite Campus has refined. It minimizes the time and attention
district technical staff normally devotes to information management.
“We felt Campus Cloud Choice Hosting provided us with stronger
functionality as it relates to continuity of operation,” says McDonald.
“Its ‘feature rich’ environment would allow us to grow into new
capabilities such as the Campus Portal, as well as consider migrating
from existing products.”
According to Bonnie King, Fauquier Manager of Application Services, “As
a company, Infinite Campus articulates a mission wholly aligned with
that of K12 public schools. Providing services in 43 states, they have a
large market share which has been organically grown vs. acquired. Since
their mission of Transforming K12 Education is aligned with ours, we
expect this to be a win-win situation.”
Fauquier County Public Schools plans to go live by the 2014-15 school year.
