Selection Process
In 2011, Cut Bank started looking for a new SIS. According to Venus Dodson, Cut Bank Elementary Principal, “Montana OPI uses Infinite Campus for state-wide data collection, so we were already familiar with the system. We also talked with nearby school districts that were using Infinite Campus and received great feedback. We soon realized Infinite Campus was the only SIS that could do everything we needed.”
After implementing Infinite Campus in the 2012-13 school year, Cut Bank was able to consolidate into one, single system. With its Web-based functionality, data is entered once and available across the district in real time.
Campus Food Service
Cut Bank maximized their investment by implementing Campus Food Service. This optional premium product improves food service efficiencies and provides parents and students with access to real-time information via the Campus Portal.
“With Campus Food Service, parents can see their students’ account balances,” said Dodson. “They can also monitor daily food purchases.”
Additionally, Cut Bank eliminated transaction processing time with Campus Food Service Point of Sale (POS). The POS terminals use touch screen technology with a self-evident visual data entry screen.
“Setting up the POS terminals was a snap,” explained Dodson. “Everything just worked. And instead of using PIN numbers, we gave our students lunch cards. The kids love scanning their cards on the POS terminals.”
Award-winning Support
Both phone and online support are always available with Infinite Campus. With a 97 percent support satisfaction rating, calls are answered by a support team member within three rings.
An extensive online support option, the Campus Community, is available 24/7. There is comprehensive product information in the Campus Knowledge Base, and users can interact with other schools in the Campus User Forums.
“The Campus Community gives our staff the tools to be independent,” said Dodson. “If they have a question, they can usually find the answer themselves online.”
Infinite Campus University
Infinite Campus University (ICU) plays an important role in Cut Bank’s ongoing training for staff professional development. Authorized staff members sign up for lunch and learn sessions, one-on-one training, webinars and more.
According to Dodson, “With our ICU subscription, we have direct access to Campus Trainers. They are all very knowledgeable. If they don’t know an answer to a question, they will find someone who does and quickly call you back. The personalized attention is invaluable.”
Future Goals
Cut Bank plans to use the innovative technology at Infinite Campus to assist their teachers in the classroom. “Campus Online Assignments and Online Assessments are two features we plan to start using in the near future,” said Dodson.
With these teacher tools, Cut Bank can eliminate lengthy papers and bubble sheets. Teachers can post assignments and assessments to the Campus Portal, and students can complete and submit them online.
