MOC-Floyd
Valley (MOC-FV) Community School District used JMC for over 10 years
before moving to Infinite Campus. The district wasn’t actively seeking a
new student information system (SIS), but when they learned several
other area districts were moving to Infinite Campus, they decided to
explore their options. As a fully web-based system, Infinite Campus
offered advanced technology in a single solution. Monthly enhancements
are available to keep the product current; at no additional cost. With
competitive pricing and superior services and support, it was a great
opportunity for them. MOC-FV implemented Infinite Campus at the start of
the 2013-14 school year.
Challenges with Legacy SIS
MOC-FV
had many challenges with JMC. However, they were assured that with
Infinite Campus they would have state-of-the art technology and
immediate response to questions and concerns. They also saw the Infinite
Campus SQL structure was far superior, intuitive and easy to use.
Easing the Implementation Process
To
many districts, the thought of implementing a new SIS seems like a
difficult task. With Infinite Campus, experienced professionals ease the
process so districts, like MOC-FV, are up and running quickly. Computer
Information Concepts (CIC), a channel partner of Infinite Campus,
assisted MOC-FV with their implementation process. The transition is
managed using the most effective Product Implementation Methodology for
project management, data conversion, training, customer development and
application hosting.
“The
implementation went well. The CIC staff was helpful and knowledgeable
throughout the process. Our training was primarily done through group
webinars with other schools in the region. Training for staff was easy
and included email communication and tutorials to explain the process.
The Infinite Campus interface was user friendly and intuitive, which
made teacher and staff trainings run smoothly,” said Jason Vore, MOC-FV
Network Administrator.
Superior Service and Support
MOC-FV
has received superior customer service and support from CIC. “CIC’s
support personnel have been extremely responsive, helpful and invaluable
in the transition process. They communicate and provide updates
frequently and escalate support issues as needed,” said Vore. “Our
account representative has been very accommodating and visited us onsite
to better understand our needs and provide guidance on how we can
better use the tools within Infinite Campus.”
In addition to personalized customer service and support, an extensive online support option, the Campus Community, is available 24/7. This comprehensive product knowledge base allows users to interact with other schools through the Campus User Forums.
Access by Mobile Device
The
Campus Mobile Portal App has been a preferred feature for MOC-FV
parents. They have been pleased with having the ability to check their
student’s grades, attendance and lunch balances on their smartphones.
The Mobile Portal App can be downloaded from any Apple® iOS or Android®
device.
Point-of-Sale Food Service Options
MOC-FV
maximized their investment by implementing Campus Food Service and
point-of-sale (POS) options. This optional Premium Product improves food
service efficiencies and provides parents and students with access to
real-time information via the Campus Portal.
According to Vore, “Campus Food Service allows parents to see their child’s account balances and monitor daily food purchases. The POS terminals increase effective cafeteria management and our staff is extremely pleased with the ease of use.”
Return on Investment
As
MOC-FV transitioned to a new school year, they saw significant time
savings compared to their previous system. “The reduced problems and
greater efficiency we’ve realized with Infinite Campus has continually
affirmed our decision to make the change,” stated Vore. “In talking with
other districts, I’ve advised them not to wait until the last minute. A
successful transition, like ours, requires a well thought out plan. And
the increased benefits with Infinite Campus are numerous.”
