School District of Janesville, Wisconsin, Selects Infinite Campus
April 14, 2014 – Blaine, Minn. – The School District of Janesville (SDJ), serving 10,400 students in southern Wisconsin, has selected Infinite Campus as its new student information system (SIS). Infinite Campus will give SDJ superior state reporting and extensive functionality. In addition, the company’s vision of transforming the classroom using contemporary technology and access to accurate information, set them apart from other vendors.
The state of Wisconsin completed an extensive RFP process to evaluate competing student information systems, searching for one with the richest feature set, lowest cost and greatest vision. Through this process, SDJ chose Infinite Campus, a modern-day single solution that addressed outstanding data needs and lowered annual costs.
According to Dr. Robert Smiley, SDJ Chief Information Officer, “We chose Infinite Campus because of its forward-thinking vision of what an SIS means for raising student achievement. We saw passion, purpose and focus that aligned with our vision for student success, staff productivity, and state and federal reporting. The company’s leadership has positioned the product and its features to reflect the way we live, work and teach today.”
Coming off a system that was difficult to support, had limited functionality and was not reflective of current processes, SDJ appreciates that Infinite Campus is a one-stop shop. All student data is in a single, centrally hosted database that is convenient, efficient, and available to users in real time.
SDJ maximized its investment by purchasing Campus Food Service, Campus Messenger with Voice, Campus Online Payments, Campus Online Registration and Campus Multi-language Editor. These Premium Products work seamlessly with the Campus SIS to streamline cafeteria options, simplify communication, eliminate cash handling, facilitate smooth enrollment processes and support multiple language translations.
“Bringing so much functionality under one roof will greatly increase the accuracy and speed of every aspect of our work,” says Jennifer Erdmann, SDJ Data Specialist.
SDJ is scheduled to go-live on July 1, 2014. They are enthusiastic about working with a company that is designed from the ground up to leverage contemporary software and effectively manage data in the classroom to increase student achievement.
“We have a tremendous opportunity in front of us as we begin to use Infinite Campus to address our long-standing SIS needs,” says Dr. Smiley.
